Hypercar: the 8 most powerful and fastest cars of 2020, including petrol, hybrid and electric cars

Hypercar: the 8 most powerful and fastest cars of 2020, including petrol, hybrid, and electric cars

Powers from 819 to 1900 HP, alternating between petrol, bioethanol, hybrid and electric.

2020 will a new decade for the world of performance, where the world of racing technology will come of arrogance on the road, making it more powerful and performing all the hypercar.

Every decade there is a significant technological innovation and with this beginning 2020, we have given birth to a new generation of Hypercar, in the name of power, lightness, and active aerodynamics. The 90s were the decade of carbon, with the evolution of McLaren and Pagani, then in the 2000s, it passed to unprecedented power, with Bugatti first of all. Since 2010 we have witnessed the evolution of the Holy Trinity, with the McLaren P1 trio, Ferrari LaFerrari, and Porsche 918 Spyder, with the advent of the high-performance hybrid and reasoned active aerodynamics. Now we have just entered 2020 and the very first models of the decade anticipate stunning technologies: artificial intelligence, self-regulating suspensions, small but powerful engines, super-refined design, and, first of all, mass electrification. The advent of the electric has allowed many producers, large and small, to access never-before-seen and unreachable powers for combustion engines, which however always carve out a small but precious slice of the market. So let's find out what this 2020 will offer us at the hypercar level.

Ferrari SF90 Stradale

When it comes to performance, the pony brand cannot be missing. The New Ferrari SF90 Stradale comes with the most powerful V8 ever created in Maranello, supported by 3 electric motors that give the SF90 Stradale the medal as Ferrari's first all-wheel-drive Berlinetta. The thermal engine develops 780 HP which then becomes 1000 HP if combined with the electric units, for a total torque of 900 Nm of torque. This allows it, despite the weight of 1,570 kg, to detach the 0-100 km / h in just 2.5 seconds, a 0-200 km / h of 6.7 seconds a maximum speed of 340 km / h. It has a 7.9 kWh battery small from the pack, which ensures the autonomy of about 25 km in 100% EV mode. Three driving modes are available, Hybrid, Performance, and Qualify, to change the behavior of the components to ensure respectively lower consumption, greater endothermic performance, or greater overall power. Available from mid-2020 at a price of around 428,000 euros.

Koenigsegg Gemera

The Swedish brand is perhaps the one that has made the greatest leaps and bounds in the last 10 years, moving from a small manufacturer of custom-made powerful cars to a hotbed of engineering and technological innovations, capable of dictating the way for subsequent years. The new Gemara is the most revolutionary ever seen at the Geneva Motor Show. A Mega-GT, a term coined by Koenigsegg itself, with 4 seats, enough luggage compartment, Plug-in Hybrid capable of ensuring 1700 HP and 3500 Nm of torque, derived from 3 electric motors and a 2.0 3-cylinder 600 HP thermal engine and 600 Nm of torque. Lo for a maximum speed close to 0-100 is covered in 1.9 seconds400 km / h. It is not enough? It can ensure 50 km in electric mode and, if powered with second-generation bioethanol or methanol, the car also becomes CO2 neutral, i.e. the engine works in such a way as not to produce CO2. Otherwise, we proceed with classic petrol. It is not enough? An artificial intelligence manages the operation of everything, turns off 1 cylinder when sailing, weighs only 1850 kg (it is almost 5 meters long), is all made of carbon and there are 8 drink holders (eight drink holders!), 2 for each passenger, one cold and one hot. It will be produced in only 300 copies at a price of around 1.5 million euros.

Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport

After years of chasing after powers and top speed, Bugatti has realized that without a hybrid or electric powertrain, little can be done. So he decided to offer the Chiron version more oriented to driving pleasure and lap time. An important step back that underlines a great ability of the manufacturer to know what his cars lacked. The pleasure of driving hard, even between corners. In fact, we find a 40% greater downforce compared to a classic Chiron, s 65% stiffer seats in front and 33% behind, close ratios of 15% and faster changes, slimming care of 50 kg and new carbon-ceramic brakes. Bugatti claims a 10% higher lateral g cornering and a top speed reduced to 350 km / h. The engine does not vary, it is the same 1500 HP W16 8.0. Available from the end of 2020 in only 60 copies at a price of around 3 million euros.

Koenigsegg Jesko

We return to the Swedish home, because yes, in this 2020 Koenigsegg's new super sports car, the Jesko, will also be produced. We saw it for the first time last year at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and this year it will go into production. Big news also for this hypercar, which sports a very powerful 5.0 V8 Biturbo Freevalve capable of producing 1280 HP with normal gasoline or 1,600 HP as well. She too made entirely of carbon, from the monocoque frame to the bodywork. It features a new 9-speed multi-disc transmission, new anti-turbo lag electric turbocharger, and the latest generation electronically controlled suspension. The 1,500 Nm of maximum torque with E85 bioethanol 0-100 km / h is covered in 2.5 seconds, for a maximum speed close to 400 km / h, while for the speed record over 500 km / h a new version will be produced, called Jesko Absolut which will be tested towards the end of 2020. The Jesko will be produced towards the end of 2020, at a price of around 2.5 million euros.

Lamborghini Sian

We cannot fail to mention the S. Agata Bolognese brand, and its Lamborghini Sian, the latest exercise in style. It looks like the business card in the world of hybrid cars, combining its legendary 6.5 V12 with a 48V electric motor integrated into the 7-speed automatic robotized gearbox, capable of delivering 34 HP and about 38 Nm of torque. The intake valves are made of titanium, as well as the new exhaust system which increases the overall power up to 819 HP, becoming the most powerful road Lamborghini ever made. Instead of the common lithium batteries, we find a supercapacitor, 3 times lighter, and with the triple capacity to store energy, with a total weight of only 34 kg. The 0-100 is covered in 2.8 seconds, for a maximum speed of 350 km / h. 63 specimens would be produced, at a starting price of 3.3 million euros, but they have already been sold. Sin.

Pininfarina Battista

If you want all the power of a Rimac, but seasoned in Italian sauce, Pininfarina Battista is the right car for you. Rimac has, in fact, supplied many electrical components, including the 4 motors placed for each wheel that manage to release a total power of 1,900 HP and 2,300 Nm of maximum torque, just enough to reach 350 km / h and detach it, with only 150 specimens at a price of about 2.3 million euros. 0-100 km / h in just 2 seconds, while it 0-300 km / h is covered in less than 12 seconds. The chassis and bodywork are both made of carbon, with a design that leaves you speechless. I believe it is an absolutely perfect car, stylistically speaking, with strong references to the Ferrari world. But what we want to do is Pininfarina. It will be produced from mid-2020.

McLaren Speedtail

Even McLaren cannot miss the appointment, a brand in such large expansion that it is almost impossible to keep up with all the models and new editions. This new McLaren Speedtail picks up where the Mclaren F1 LT left us, with the classic elongated and tapered bodywork, for the benefit of aerodynamics and maximum speed, expanding the Ultimate Series family. It is more an exercise in style than a production model, but the Woking manufacturer hardly puts aside performance for design. In fact, it uses the very powerful McLaren 720S engine, the 4.0 V8 Biturbo combined with an electric motor, capable of generating around 1,036 HP and around 900 Nm maximum torque. The declared 0-300 km / h speaks of about 12.8 seconds, for a maximum speed of 402 km / h. It will be produced in the middle of this year in only 106 specimens starting from 2.5 million euros, but already all sold.

SSC Tuatara

Initially, there was talk of a particular edition for the SSC Ultimate Aero back in 2011, then probably some other customers liked the model and therefore SSC decided to produce it in a larger number, but some complications delayed its production. 2020 should become his year, showing off the all-American 5.9 V8 Biturbo capable of delivering 1,350 hp at 8000 rpm. Some rumors, however, speak of the possible use of E85 bioethanol, as for Jesko and Gemara, which would bring the power to 1,750 HP in order to exceed the limit of 500 km / h. It will be built near Washington, in only 100 copies at a starting price of around 1.5 million euros.
